Hello! My name is Bob Kozakiewicz…better known as Bob K. I’m 71 years old and have been married to the same wonderful bride, Pat, for 47 years. I have one daughter, Christina, one grandson, AJ, and one granddaughter, Priya. My family is my life! Obviously, I enjoy wood carving but I also love fishing…especially fly fishing! Carving since I was 15 years old I’m a self-taught, award-winning wood carver who also enjoys instructing other carvers, especially beginners. My favorite subjects are Santas, elves, ornaments and small caricatures. Today my wood carvings can be found in private collections throughout the United States, and abroad.

I started my professional working career in 1973 as a quality control/research chemist while still finishing college. I soon became the lab manager where I stayed for 15 years. I was then offered a position by a large chemical distributor to be their operations manager where I soon became involved with environmental science. After 8 years at that company, I decided to go into the field of environmental consulting. I worked for several different consulting firms before health issues forced me into early disability retirement at the age of 59.
Fully retired now, I spend all of my time wood carving, writing this blog, articles for Woodcarving Illustrated and caring for my grandchildren. Caring for my grandchildren is the best job I ever had! The pay stinks but the benefits are awesome!
